I’m not a fan of some of the cuts to science, but National came in in 2008. Regular readers of this site might be able to think of a much discussed example, that of birding on National Wildlife Refuges versus hunting. Is seeking to extract economic benefit out of nature a bad thing? By contrast, not all extractive use is bad.
