(Washington, DC) Animal World USA is pleased to announce exciting news about the 1st Annual Washington DC Week for the Animals, which will kick off Saturday, May 30th and run through Sunday, June 7th, 2009.
The event will be held on Sunday, October 4th, 2009. Because of foreclosures, the city shelters are in crisis and flooded with animals – which, in turn, has dramatically increased the euthanasia rate. Race for the Rescues originally appeared on 4 The Love of Animals on September 14, 2009.
Featured on National Geographic Channel’s show DogTown, Best Friends Animal Society works with members, individuals, humane groups and entire communities to set up spay/neuter, foster, shelter and adoption programs in neighborhoods throughout the country. Q: Although there are literally millions of pets in shelters, pounds and other ‘temporary housing’, many pet-owners-to-be don’t think about pet adoption when they’re looking for their new four-legged friend. A: Many people who want to get a pet just are not aware of how many pets are available at shelters.
WHAT: Found Animals Foundation ( www.foundanimals.org ) will host their second annual “Save A Stray For The Holidays” adoption event on Saturday, December 19th, 2009 from 9am-2pm. Each location will reduce adoption fees, including microchip and spay/neuter surgery fees, for the special program.
Since 2003, Precious Paws has been rescuing unwanted companion cats and dogs in Southern California from both the streets and local shelters. A 501(c) 3 registered nonprofit organization, Precious Paws is dedicated to spaying or neutering, vaccinating, and testing each animal rescued before they are placed for adoption into permanent homes.
