FixNation sterilizes more than 70 cats each day and will have successfully trapped, neutered and returned 80,000 cats by the summer of 2012. The group has more than 7,000 volunteers locally who do this. To date, there are 7,076 volunteer trappers and caregivers that have embraced FixNation and contributed to these results.

Opened in June 2012, the Eco-friendly Adoption Center showcases cats and kittens in Chicago’s greenest shelter. Since 1970, Animal Protective Association’s Harmony House for Cats has rescued and rehabilitated stray and injured cats in a no-kill cageless environment.

Here in Germany, we are currently experiencing the darkest winter on record, since sunlight hours were first recorded in 1951.

They won’t be back until mid-April 2012. They mew like kittens in the hand. But I look out and there are only a couple of ruby-throated hummingbirds buzzing around the salvias and cardinal flower garden. They’ve all taken off for the Gulf Coast, for Central America. I overestimated again. And I already miss them.
