The Kimberley Flycatcher had previously been a sub-species of the Lemon-bellied Flycatcher , but is now a species in its own right as of August 2019. The photo below I took in 2014 at Marlow Lagoon. This species is easier to find in Derby than Broome and the Derby wharf is a good place to go and observe them. Kimberley Flycatcher.

It appears as if they just need to lie their wings correctly to be comfortable and it is never quite right when they first land. Here are some Brown Honeyeaters enjoying the water in 2014 and Zebra Finch in 2012 at this location. They have one very distinct feature when they land, which is that they shuffle their wings.

On March 16, 2014, I saw and heard a raven flying overhead in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. We saw ravens in southern Manhattan through the winter and spring of 2015 (I even saw one with a bagel , confirming that they are right at home here in New York). In 2010, Common Ravens nested in Queens.

In my imagination, the job of a male Australian Brush Turkey is pretty similar – removing or adding bits and pieces to his pile of rotting vegetation in order to get the right temperature to incubate the eggs buried underneath to hatch. It breeds in tree holes, presumably explaining the more commonly used name for it.
