eBirding National Wildlife Refuges

10,000 Birds

I am something of an aficionado of National Wildlife Refuges. For example, some hotspots within the boundaries of a National Wildlife Refuge are not consistently identified as such.

Through multi-partnerships, cooperation, federal funding, and the private conservation efforts of one family, 616 acres were officially added to the Cherokee National Forest in September 2018. Best Bird of the Weekend (Third of January 2018)

10,000 Birds

Maybe my perspective is biased, but if you’re feeling left out, you should be making 2018 your Year of the Eagle as well. This cooperative bird was found on Saturday in one of the openings in the ice at the south end of the East Pond at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge and Corey went and saw it on Sunday. How about you?
