Best Bird of the Weekend (Third of November 2019)

My Ten Best Birds of 2019

On a twenty-four hour birding bender that had already netted me two state birds, including an amazing Burrowing Owl in Queens , I took a stop at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to see what was around. And not only did Jamaica Bay, as usual, not disappoint, but it came through in a major way! What more could a birder need? Happy New Year!

As I have for the last several years, I will now ask the same question of midwesterners and northeasterners that I ask every year: When did you see your first Eastern Phoebe of 2019? 2019 – 17 March. 2018 – 30 March.
