Scores of abandoned dogs, cats and livestock from Utah animal shelters become subjects of laboratory research at the University of Utah each year. University officials say they only collect animals from shelters willing to participate and pound animals are steered toward nonlethal experiments. From the AP.

For people who own dogs and other creatures, their recourse is to leave the animals in a shelter, pound or simply let them loose. Shoppers discovered the abandoned animal, wrapped in a white plastic bag at Morrisons Supermarket located on Pilton Drive. Before abandoning a pet, try to find another home for it.
