Unfortunately, a recession also means that less people are adopting from or donating to shelters.

Each year these groups combined, rescue and find homes for over 2,000 abandoned Southland dogs and cats, animals that most likely would otherwise have lost their lives. 4th ANNUAL “RACE FOR THE RESCUES” FUNDRASIER. Animals in the tri-state area are euthanized daily, rescue groups are unable to save as many lives as they wish, and animals spend years in boarding kennels while awaiting adopters to fall in love with them. For an adopter, it makes the process a little easier. Many of these boarding animals are forgotten. And the latter is selfish.
