The sea is frothing with Great Cormorant and Herring Gull , with more than 100 birds diving into the water. There are Harbour Porpoises right next to the ferry! I park the car and walk through a cacophony of bird song to the viewpoint. But where’s the bird? What’s that? A fin, another one. So it is this morning.

In spite of being cosmopolitan birds, found on seven of the nine continents, Black-crowned Night Herons are pretty special birds. But every once in a while, the birds actually do something that tells a story.
