We know that the human mind has capacities that are not common in other animals. For example, humans have “Theory of Mind” which is not a theory in the scientific sense, but rather, a capacity whereby we have an internal theory of what is going on in other people’s minds. But that’s another story. Here’s the idea.

Remember animal research doesn't just create reports, it creates CAREERS as well.) Our primary concern is the advancement of investigative methodologies that lead to effective cures and treatments for human diseases.

If I was an ornithologist aiming for a grant, I would now definitely highlight the need for more research on this topic. The researchers are quite aware of the differences between humans and birds and thus have completely ignored another explanation for this behavior. The Hair-crested Drongo is a bit more common here.
