Second Acts is a non-profit fund raising organization that distributes 100% of all donations received to small, volunteer-run animal rescue groups nationwide that adopt a no-kill policy. Rescue Spotlight: Second Acts originally appeared on 4 The Love of Animals on September 12, 2009.
Many dogs are rescued out of abusive or traumatic situations, causing them to exhibit a wide variety of emotional and behavioral problems. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t make great companions for the right adoptive family. Juliet and Foxy, a Terrier mix and a Chow Chow/Cocker Spaniel mix, are my rescues.
Second Acts is a very unique animal organization, they fund raise on behalf of animal rescue groups! Second Acts distributes 100% of all donations received to small, volunteer-run groups nationwide that adopt a no-kill policy. We love seeing the good that can come when passionate people come together to help animals.
New volunteers, supporters and adopters are always welcome. Since 1970, Animal Protective Association’s Harmony House for Cats has rescued and rehabilitated stray and injured cats in a no-kill cageless environment. The grand opening for the new shelter will be on Sunday, July 8 from 2-6 pm at 2914 N Elston.
She is an ambassador for the Best Friends Animal Society , a major non-profit in animal rescue and adoption. Better Buddies’ mission is to shift society’s focus to adoption as the means to find a pet and to make no-kill kennels the way to find pets.
