And I received confirmation of something I've known since 2004, when we adopted retired racing greyhound, Violet Rays: That there's sort of a critical period for dog-behavior acquisition, and if it's missed, the dog isn't likely to mature into the type of loving being whose behavior we've come to associate with "pet" dogs.

It will be interesting to see if the proposal is adopted and this guide becomes the first to employ the new official usage, or if it sparks other bird guide authors to revolt against the system. Rick Wright agrees. Personally, I find the lack of an apostrophe-s easy to adapt to in writing, but strange when I say it out loud.

Violet Rays was a very successful competitor and the offspring of a Hall of Famer, and she made someone a lot of money, winning race after race for the two years she was hauled between Oregon and South Florida. She was adopted immediately, but returned almost as quickly because the people didn't realize how inconvenient diabetes can be.

Shon Rahrig : While living in Ohio in 1999, Rahrig allegedly adopted several cats and a puppy from local shelters and tortured them sadistically.
