My self-appointed job in this blog is to think critically about how our human lives intersect with those of sentient nonhumans, in action and thought. If they want what's best for lobsters, they should be advocating for not killing and eating them at any restaurant (and then I guess the question becomes: why stop at lobsters).

The animal advocacy group Compassion Over Killing has created a new website to bring attention to the fact that Morningstar Farms continues to use "battery eggs" from caged birds in their products. I'll probably blog about it on my personal site in the near future to help you get the word out. Here is the link. Good stuff.

This blog is written by writer, photographer, and animal advocate Ingrid Taylar. They pointed out the puncture wounds, likely infected with bacteria that could quickly kill. But, we’re facing a world of shrinking biodiversity and depressingly-high bird kill numbers that demand an accounting outside of our self interest.

Its goal was to limit the greedy collecting of birds killed for the plume trade, the bird meat trade (as in the wholesale slaughter of the Passenger Pigeon), and for sport (again, the Passenger Pigeon and declining numbers of waterfowl). This is not a negative criticism, it is a reflection of the audience for this blog.
