Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary was an amazing and unexpected treat, but that’s because I failed to do my research. It’s only 15 minutes north of High Island, though in neighboring Chambers County (High Island is part of Galveston County, good to know if you’re going to be researching eBird checklists).

4 The Love Of Animals

Scientific research shows that many animals are very intelligent and have sensory and motor abilities that dwarf ours. I also watched a red fox bury her mate after a cougar had killed him. More research is needed, but initial studies by the Pine Street Foundation and others on using dogs for diagnosis are promising.
