How many people know this about the Animal Welfare Act? No wonder there is so much "farm" animal abuse out there. Humane treatment runs counter to the entire industry when the point is to make money by processing these animals as fast as possible. Most animals in the U.S. This is really interesting.

We can care about animals and people at the same time; they're not mutually exclusive. If you don't have to enslave, rape, dominate, or kill someone (or have someone else do it for you), why would you? Yes, it is hypocritical (speciesism), but who said that we either protect humans or animals? Where do people get that idea?

If we throw up our hands in disgust at the level of support for animal abuse in America’s churches and synagogues, we will set back the animals’ cause by at least a generation and probably more. Like the old abolitionists, we must convert the churches, not write them off. Ask them what they had for breakfast.

Some people think it’s just plain fun to kill enormous numbers of animals and pile up their bodies, and when there’s no “bag limit” it’s legal to do so. It also brings to mind the uncontested link between animal abuse and violent behavior toward fellow humans. Plain old fashioned Fun.”.

Some of us forget that dogs are mere animals, and that animal mistreatment is as American as Apple iPods. Like Vick, most of us shamelessly abuse and kill animals. Hunters shoot down animals in cold blood for mere sport. Many (though not all) animal lovers kind of suck too, including myself.
