The media and society is vilifying Michael Vick (rightly I believe.) Is what he did consciously to his pitbulls that much worse than what we do unconsciously to animals every day? So why is one type of animal cruelty (dogfighting) more reprehensible than another (lobster-boiling)?

Imprisoned NFL star Michael Vick will be allowed to finish his sentence under home confinement because there is no room at a halfway house for him, a government official told The Associated Press Thursday. Vick is serving a 23-month sentence at the federal penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., He is eligible for release in July.
