Prominent New York thoroughbred breeder and owner Ernie Paragallo was convicted Wednesday of mistreating dozens of malnourished horses on his Hudson Valley farm. A judge convicted Paragallo of 33 of 34 misdemeanor animalcruelty counts in a nonjury trial in Greene County.
50 surviving horses were rescued. The Humane Society of the United States, SPCA of East Texas and Humane Society of North Texas worked with the Smith County District Attorney's Office to rescue 50 horses from a Lindale property. For the full story, go here to KLTV.com.
