The lawsuit alleges that the City of Albuquerque partnered with animal advocate groups to implement a Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) program in which stray or feral cats are trapped, sterilized, vaccinated, and then abandoned at the location at which they were trapped. Three cheers for Marcy Britton!

Bird poop is, summarized and generalized, the same thing as any other animal group’s poop: the final stage of digestion, the getting rid of the garbage. If this wasn’t your thing, you would not be here at this moment in the first place.

Rescuing the Vick dogs was a controversial move by Best Friends and some animal groups, most notably PETA, did not agree with it. I'm a dues-paying member of both groups but, while I support euthanasia when it is CLEARLY an act of mercy, I come down pretty hard on Best Friends' side here.

We've posted about hoarders before, but animal hoarders are more than just overwhelmed rescuers. There are numerous fact sheets about animal hoarding available from animal groups. Many consider hoarding to be a real mental illness. Here's one from PETA and another from the Humane Society.

We just had to share this post from one of our favorite animal groups, the ASPCA. April is “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month&# , and the ASPCA urges people to “Go Orange&# to show their support. More than that though, they are inviting people to do more by becoming an Ambassador!

(Actually, less than $1 million dollars went to animal welfare because a portion went to guide dog associations and that is human welfare as far as I’m concerned.) Originally, animal groups actually thought they’d get a huge piece of the estate because Leona Helmsley had supposedly wanted it that way.
