Her letter to the Indian research facility is pretty distressing. Former Baywatch star and model Pamela Anderson has accused one of India's most prestigious research centres of animal cruelty, urging it to retire decades-old test monkeys and adopt humane practices. Investigative journalism by the Salt Lake Tribune, following-up on allegations levelled by PETA against the University of Utah's Comparative Medicine Center and the Cardiovascular Research & Training Institute laboratories revealed the two laboratories had used 190 dogs and cats in 2009, all obtained from shelters.

You heard it right.sheep decompression tests. PETA and the Alliance for Animals are asking for charges to be filed against the University of Wisconsin at Madison. The research is an effort to prevent "the bends," or injuries to divers as they ascend from deep water. From the Wisconsin State Journal.
