"How long should one animal be used in the lab before it is euthanized?" I think he also doesn't know that not all of us think that chasing down Class B dealers is as important as working to shut down animal experimentation and create more alternatives. Isn't it better for science, and more humane, to use just one animal?

On the traditional position, justification of vegetarianism was in terms of animal welfare, happiness, rights, and so on. Philosophers make distinctions in order to focus attention on particular classes of things. There is, of course, nothing incompatible with using both kinds of considerations in justifying vegetarianism.
