Johannesburg - A Bloemfontein man received a criminal record on Friday for a "backyard experiment" on a pregnant monkey, the NSPCA said. He had severed her spinal cord to paralyse her for a "backyard experiment. The NSPCA in November 2008 charged Jordaan for his "merciless treatment" of a heavily pregnant vervet monkey.

One of the most impressive aspects of the Tropical Rainforests is the incredible array of sounds produced by animals. Interior forest animals, from invertebrates to large mammals, rely on sounds to communicate; the forest is so dense that visual cues are meaningless.
