But even I have heard of how exciting southeast Arizona is for American birders. All sorts of exotic and beautiful species may be seen. This would sound attractive even to me, except for one fact: almost all of those exotic and beautiful species are common down here in central Mexico. These are all summer-only in Arizona.)

Little Big Year – Week 36: Southern New Mexico hotspots.

Most of the time, I know enough about an area, or have done some research into what is found there, that I am pleasantly surprised at best. We are now headed to Tucson, Arizona, where we will park the 5th wheel for an extended amount of time, possibly as long as March 1st. US species – 243. eBird.org submissions – 312.

The Littel Big Year – Week 45: Wrapping up the Bahamas

By the time we had ended our visit on the island, I had racked up a total of 58 birds species, with 27 of them new birds on the Little Big Year list. Now, I have 8 days left, in order to find 9 new bird species, somewhere in the state of Arizona, to total an amazing 1300 birds for the year. The Little Big Year species – 1291.
