Feral Cats Are An Invasive Species in North America (and elsewhere)

10,000 Birds

That was a wild cat, a wild Wildcat, the cat that lives in the wild because that is where it is from and where it belongs, at the southern end of its pan-African range that extended at one time well into Europe and Asia. Feral Pigeons World Wide

10,000 Birds

With binoculars around my neck, I am leaving home, wondering which will be the first species on my year list. Obviously, I am talking of Feral Pigeons (also called city, town or street pigeons). 10,000 Birds

It can’t have escaped your notice lately that the blog has been overrun with articles about North America’s pseudo-warblers (or wood warblers, as some people, apparently unaware the name is taken by a proper European species, call them), and, even worse, no small amount of poetry. And they are always a pleasure to see.

Body-building finches.

10,000 Birds

The study was conducted on a population of Striated Munias, Lonchura striata, but it would seem that they are not the only species to take advantage of the body-building power of algae. White-backed / Striated Munia Lonchura striata Munias or mannikins (but not manakins), are small, seed-eating finches from Africa, Asia and Australia.
