The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Joplin Humane Society successfully found permanent homes for 745 pets during its weekend adopt-a-thon event on June 25 and 26. It makes me so happy to know that so many pet lovers wanted to help find these animals homes! Such happy news from Joplin!

Lost pets is a growing issue that teens care about. So DoSomething.org asked young people to submit ideas for reuniting pets with their owners. Thanks to our friends at the ASPCA, DoSomething.org gave 2 $500 grants to young people with the best ideas. Dosomething.org helps lost pets.

Together with the ASPCA, their Rescues and Runways program hopes to find homes for pets, and raise money for shelters. Homeless Pets Need More Help Than Ever Before. Families who are facing hard financial times are being forced to surrender their dogs, cats and other pets to animal shelters at an alarming rate.
