De Grey River rest area

The De Grey River rest area is a good place to take a break if you are travelling the long journey between the two towns of Broome and Port Hedland in Western Australia. It does not completely solve the problem, because animals transport the burrs, but it will hopefully slow the spread. The rest area was reopened in April 2019.

Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan

On the first trip in 2012 we used public transport to get there and the train conveniently gets you to Macarthur Square shopping centre and you can then get a bus that drops you right at the entrance to the park. The park is the largest botanic garden in Australia and access is free. Wanderer Butterfly.
