The Kodak Tele-ektralite 20 was made in Canada and had two lenses and they were 22mm and 44mm. Despite the disadvantage of not being able to take many photos or having to wait for the photos to be developed you did not need to worry about batteries, because they were all manually operated. My current AA battery camera.

How can we say that magic is a farce when the May blossoms are backdropping bright, breeding plumaged Canadas , Magnolias , Chestnut-sideds , chocolate Bay-breasteds , and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks ? When a new morning greets us with a symphony of wood-warblers, thrushes, and other spring birds?

That, and 10 days back on the way was going to be a great to recharge the batteries after a long round-the-world trip. A pair Bald Eagles were doing fly-bys over our heads , and there were Belted Kingfishers, Canada Geese , A pair of Mallards, and three Great Blue Herons. Here is a small group shot of those Purple Martins.

We chose the Battery Harris Platform at Fort Tilden, along the barrier beaches of the Rockaway Pensinsula in Queens, because it affords a great view of both the bay and the ocean, as well as a wide expanse of dune scrub habitat. But what, exactly, is a Big Sit? The hawk flight was not large but we did see quite a few species of raptors.
