I’m not sure what the collective noun for a group of petrels is, but the vets and wildlife carers of New Zealand might be forgiven for thinking that it might be a wreck after this week. The bird takes a mouth-ful of water and then forces the water through them, trapping the planktonic organisms which it eats.

I need to write a whole post so better start throwing in more details, maybe even a bird or two… Before the “ever after” there’d be a wedding, of course. Never to say no to a good party, especially with the possibility of adding a few days’ worth of birding I packed the vitals: binoculars, clean undies, horned helmet, suit and tie.
