Birding Shanghai in June 2023

This is similar to the fact that all birds, even first time breeders within a species build identical nests.

Common Gallinule, the lost Moorhen

10,000 Birds

I felt like I needed to do some research into why this change occurred. These birds have been known to be prolific breeders, with as many as 8 broods a year, and each clutch holding from 5-13 eggs. Like many birders, ever since I was a child, these wonderful, shy birds have been known as the Common Moorhen.
