Apparently , the two main factors influencing double brooding are the individual quality of the breeder and the timing of the first clutch. It seems to me that the Red-billed Starling is getting more and more common in Shanghai (and apparently also in South Korea, see here ) – not bad given that it is quite an attractive bird.
