I tried to get a better idea of what exactly the definition of cuckoo-dove is but am still not very clear about it – Wikipedia only offers the rather formal definition “any of several species of bird in the genera Macropygia , Reinwardtoena, and Turacoena of the pigeon family.” But I may well be wrong.

They do not build nests, but occupy old nests of Rooks and breed colonially among them. Red-footed Falcon’s breeding range starts less than 50 mi north of here and I hope that some will choose to join a local rookery and stay. They are quite a rare breeding species in Serbia, declining as we speak, but one pair breeds nearby.

Is Belgrade the New Berlin is a question recently raised in Vogue by Marry Holland. I am a birder and I can claim that out of Serbia’s total of 350+ bird species, highly urbanised inner city areas of Belgrade hold almost 100 birds, while the outskirts have more than 200 species. km / 1 mi to the fish farm entrance.

So, I was excited to read reports in late 2017 of a pair of Whooping Cranes being seen on a cattle farm. Whooping Crane is not listed as a “sensitive species” for Florida, and there are reports for other locations in the area. John James Audubon first heard the sparrow in July, 1944, on a buffalo hunt in North Dakota. ” [[link].
