What is a “Nonessential Experimental” California Condor?

In 1806, Lewis and Clark saw condors near the Columbia River, which makes up much of the Washington-Oregon border. After years of study , FWS has proposed releasing captive-bred condors in Redwoods National Park in Northern California, not far from the Oregon border.

Activist Releases 1500 Mink in Oregon

In the early morning hours of October 17th, a lone activist infiltrated the fur farm at 92659 Simonsen Road in Astoria Oregon. About 1,500 mink were released from their cages with at least 200 of these being breeding stock. fur farmers are a dying breed. This action is being claimed for the vegan straight edge community.

The Lesser Goldfinch: A Common California Species

Unlike the more common American Goldfinch, the Lesser Goldfinch’s ( Spinus psaltria ) plumage does not change color during breeding season. The male (seen below) has a black cap and, in Washington, Oregon, California, and Baja California, nearly all males have green backs. The male also has bright yellow underparts.

Unlike the southern hemisphere’s penguins, however, alcids can also use those flipper wings to fly.
