We've been supporters of Alley Cat Allies for years, ever since we rescued a feral cat colony living in our apartment building's parking lot 14 years ago (5 of those clowns are aging nicely with us with us now.including Charlotte who's on the masthead). Thanks to everyone who has sent us condolences about Her Majesty Charlotte the cranky cat who has returned to the circle of life. I can honestly say that if it weren't for Charlotte, there would be no Critter News and I would still be eating the big burger at Kid Valley. She was one hell of a cat.

So, Charlotte the Cat Queen is an ongoing saga. Now she is on THREE medications that seems to work and that cat is HELL to medicate. For a sick ratty old cat, she is very strong and stubborn. Heck, even my cats visibly missed old Charlotte who died last August. I believe they do. I believe that great apes do have that capacity. I've read of the mountain gorillas in Virunga grieving over the loss of a silverback.
