I can speak from experience that this place should only be accessed by a 4 x 4 vehicle. On one of my two trips to Haroni we were driving along the road when we came across a Serval, a medium-sized and beautifully marked cat. The cat brazenly approached our vehicle to within 6 feet of us hoping for an easy meal.

The Nikon’s BATV crew flew in to Paramaribo where we were graciously hosted at the luxurious Hotel Krasnapolsky for a night so that we could experience the culture and fun of the capital city. I had my first swim with Inshore Bottlenose Dolphins in Northland’s Bay of Islands back in 2000, and it was a tripy experience. I saw it gaze intently at our cat who has a perch at the same window. Now, although I have seen this species several times before, we have a unique relationship. I saw it regurgitate a pellet.
