An Open Letter to Outdoor/Feral Cat Supporters

10,000 Birds

Dear Outdoor Cat Owners/Feral Cat Supporters, Does the photo above sicken you? I’m allergic to cats, but in my lifetime I’ve rescued five of them. Birding Fraser`s Hill

10,000 Birds

A good place to stay seems to be the Shazan Inn – not because it is in any way special (it is not), but because it is the home of a very friendly cat which would like you to share your breakfast with it. On Dolphins as a Gateway to Animal Rights

Animal Person

Dolphins are so smart that scientists think they should be treated as "non-human persons" and as such it is "morally unacceptable" to use or kill them. The entire discussion, I fear, will be about comparing dolphins to humans and the more human-like they are, the more intelligent they are, and the more worthy of moral consideration they are.

Referring to Animals

Animal Ethics

The question (presumably) is whether animals have moral status, i.e., whether the interests of animals must be taken into account in our deliberations. Using “who” assumes that the being in question has moral status (even if not full-blown personhood). Does your dog have the same moral status as your car?
