That was not all, a few days later, by one village rubbish dump, not far from Ahmedabad, we had more than 100 Egyptian Vultures (above); plus 20 more at the dead cattle dumping site at the outskirts of the city. Neighbouring (FYRO) Macedonia nowadays has about 20 pairs, while two decades ago they had 135!

In the last ten years, Cattle Egrets have bred again, on and off, but for the first time since 1870s. Imperial and Booted are the rarest eagles in the country, the first with only one heavily guarded pair left. White-tailed Eagles become more visible and locally more numerous, joined by rare, yet regular Greater Spotted Eagles.
