On my recent short family vacation to Miami, I was granted a single day to get out and really bird like a madman. En route to our next stop we slowed down next to a park and spotted the now countable Egyptian Geese. Carlos even had a cooler in the trunk to keep the pie cool until we met up with my family! Only one cuckoo?

But I do have rules about whether I can have said to have visited a country, ie does the country “count” which I have inherited from my family, particularly my Dad. Hippo and attending Cattle Egret. The vast number of meat eaters brake for geese, call the A.S.P.C.A. This physical evidence of properly handled cattle would go a long way toward ensuring healthier meat while lifting the shared burden that comes with consigning millions of animals yearly to a terrifyingly cruel death. I think most would, enthusiastically.

In a funny twist of fate, it seems that 2014 will be much the same as 2012 and 2013 have been, with family trips to somewhere in France and business trips to Indonesia and Kazakhstan. Jan 11 : The family gives me half a Saturday off to chase a long-staying Griffon Vulture in nearby Rheinland-Pfalz, about a 30 minutes drive from home.
