The Bar-backed Partridge was also one of four focal species in an investigation into illegal bird hunting in Southwestern China. If I can give you some advice: Better not be a bird in China. It will allow China to bid for more than 100 tonnes of ivory stockpiled in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe through culling and natural deaths.

The site states that in captivity, “two hens can be paired with one male.”

Both species are endangered and it is illegal to cross breed them. A private zoo operator in Taiwan cross-bred lions and tigers, resulting in three "liger" cubs. One died and the other two were seized for sheltering at a research institution. From Focus Taiwan.

While the HBW describes their presence in China as “very local”, they seem to be very common at Tongbiguan. ” Oh my, are we important.

During 1990s, the South China Tiger became extinct in the wild (some still survive in zoos) and the number of extinct races reached four. At that time there were still some 40,000 tigers in the wild. In the 1980-s, another race, the Javan Tiger become extinct and the total numbers halved to somewhat over 20,000.

A study found that for Plain Prinia , egg characteristics in a mainland China location with many cuckoos make it much easier to spot cuckoo eggs than in a Taiwan location with few cuckoos ( source ). For those who think evolution is a wrong theory, these differences may well have been created by god.
