Sometimes, though, there wasn’t much close to the jetty at all. Field Sparrow in February is a fine bird. What’s not to like?

Several years ago, I was asked to visit my nephew’s preschool class and talk about birds. The boys knew what Owls looked like, they saw Screech Owls (and Barred and Great Horned Owls) at a local wildlife park, and we photographed Burrowing Owl families every year at Brian Piccolo Park. So, they knew that these were Real Owls.

But I don’t agree with the supplemental feeding that happens with feral cats–if you’re gonna call them wildlife, treat them as such. Don’t just dismiss them as some crazy cat lady who slept through her biology classes in school. On the one hand, it’s better than doing nothing with a feral cat colony.
