About Dr. Tim: Dr. Tim Hunt is a licensed veterinarian in both Michigan and Alaska. He and his wife Mary live on 50 acres in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with four house cats, two house dogs and 40 outdoor dogs. Even if the outcome isn’t good and the animal passes away, children will remember “we tried.”

I will never forget seeing a flock of around 1,000 birds in Michigan, especially as it took me two decades to come up with a total of two observations (at a single bird each, both females) of its European/central Asian counterpart. They’re lovely birds, and they didn’t ask to come here, after all. Thanks for visiting!
I had a beautifull view on 5 horned grebe here (one in breeding plumage), in Ann Arbor Michigan, for the 3 seconds it lasted, until I heard a huge “CRRACK&# , and I fell through the ice.
