Over the course of the morning, I would see multiple Berylline Hummingbirds (shown above), Mexican Violetears , and Blue-throated Mountain Gems , and a newly arrived migratory Allen’s (or, just maybe, Rufous ) Hummingbird. Of course, not everything interesting is a bird.

Apparently, the location was the scene of a fight between Tibetans and Han Chinese a long time ago. The remaining crumbling walls make for some interesting scenery when half covered in fog.

In order to deter real estate speculation, residential birds deliberately use ugly materials as part of their nests in order to prevent a local real estate boom. After doing a quick scan of the constellation of recreational fields, a disk golf course, playground, and pond, I didn’t have high hopes for the nature viewing in this busy area. .
