A monkey was rescued from a factory in India where it was being held in captivity. It's an adult male macaque suffering from zoochosis. The problem is characterised by the animal swaying its head and pacing up and down in its enclosure incessantly in a trance-like state, indicating it may be suffering from boredom." Poor monkey!

The team is just coming off its rescue efforts in Memphis, where floods of historic proportions affected uncounted numbers of domestic and wild animals. The Red Star team consists of 13 staff and volunteers who will begin work tomorrow. The Red Star team will also be assisting at the Emergency Animal Shelter.

The suffering in this world that occurs at the hand of humankind and is entirely intentional, is disgusting and dispiriting. I choose not to watch videos or bombard myself with images of suffering. In other words, I don't immerse myself in animal cruelty. Can you please share your spiritual beliefs or coping mechanisms?

Herzog states, “The awkward fact is that most wanton animal cruelty is not perpetrated by inherently bad kids but by normal children who will eventually grow up to be good citizens” (34). . If that means volunteering at a dog rescue or giving money to PETA, all while eating and using animals, at least you’re doing something.
