Nicole at Alec's Story writes: One of my pet peeves, so to speak, is the concept of “unconditional love” as attributed to dogs by humans. But she's also an alpha dog and Charles isn't. If you call Charles' name, his ears perk up into full wombat, and he waits patiently for his instructions.
