We tried yesterday to visit the Nekromanteio of Afyra, the very entrance of ancient Greek’s Hades, but the world of the dead was locked up (well, not really for renovation, but for further research at this archeological site, after the height of a tourist season). Still, it is somehow reassuring to know that Hell is closed: one Albanian proverb says that there are no keys for the Hell’s Gates – they are open to all.

The theme of the 17th annual World Rabies Day, “All for 1, One Health for All,” highlights the need for collaboration and strengthening health systems to eliminate human deaths from dog-mediated rabies. Unvaccinated dogs are the main source of human rabies deaths, contributing up to 99% of all rabies transmissions to human globally.
