We are stuck. In a world we made. I remember a cartoon showing the prehistoric Earth as a vast forest with tiny villages fenced-off due to dangerous animals, and the today’s Earth as a wasteland, with a few tiny forests remaining, fenced-off due to abominable humans. It may look like a cartoon, but while birding Philippines, Phoebe Snetsinger literally slept in a prison, because its buffer zone held the only remaining forest in the agricultural landscape.
Author: Sabrina Ferraioli What makes a great company? Its products? Its customer service? Its sales expertise? The management team? While each component is essential, we need to look beyond individual elements to something all-encompassing that drives a company to achieve. It's the culture. . A good company culture guides, supports and encourages a workforce to excel.
In 2018, I read an article in Birding magazine by Jeff R. Manker about teaching ornithology in high schools. (It was later re-published on the All About Birds website.) That article left an impression and I have wondered what became of Manker’s effort to create a high school ornithology curriculum. Manker’s thesis is that ornithology is an excellent gateway to students becoming science majors in college and, more broadly and longer-term, conservation-minded citizens.

The popular stereotype of birders is that we’re obsessives, focused only on the feathered to the exclusion of anything else.
February feels like a step forward to our next season, but we’ll still be as mired in winter or summer, depending on your hemisphere, at month’s end as we are right now. Learn to love it! I’m really saying this for myself, since I absolutely hate being cold but live in a place that LOVES to be cold. The silver lining to these frigid winters is that birds are very active around my house, so I can enjoy cool cold-weather birds like Red-breasted Nuthatch from a warm perch.
Those who read my posts each week (and I know you’re out there, a few of you have said so) know that 2021 is shaping up to be a decidedly bipolar birding year for me here in Michoacán. It has been, in fact, the opposite of what they say about the Star Trek movies: to date, my odd-numbered outings have been much better than the even-numbered ones.

When the pandemic first hit, we all thought things would get back to normal in just a few months.
Author: Shawn Finder Ask sales and marketing leaders what digital channels they leverage to generate leads and help their teams hit quota and you’ll likely get the same answer over and over: cold calls and emails. These are useful tools, but we’re long past the era where companies can rely solely on them to drive business. The biggest problem with email is that personalization is on the decline.
Author: Jake Rheude Getting in early on a good idea can play a big part in future success. Ask the people whose families sailed on the Mayflower or those who bought Bitcoin when it was valued at $8 (at least the ones who held it rather than spending it on pizza ). There are two dovetailing arguments for using TikTok, the fastest-growing social media platform, as a B2B marketing tool: Its generous algorithm and its lack of polish.
Author: Paul Nolan We asked what’s trending in digital marketing. Here’s some of what we heard back. Think Long-Term. “B2B digital marketing has usually been focused on rational, short-term activity. Direct response focuses on people who are lower in the funnel and who are more likely to buy today.
Author: Raul Perdigão Silva This Valentine’s Day, those in B2B sales should take a cue from these dating behaviors, as they’re similar to how you should approach customers to make them fall in love with your product, no matter what you’re selling. Courting a customer can feel like dating. When you start dating someone, you typically do some research to get to know the person and work on building a relationship if it’s a mutual fit.

Author: Steve Watt Imagine if cars came without engines. They would look nice, but they wouldn’t do much. You could wash and wax the car all day. Admire how good it looks in your driveway. But there would always be a voice in your head questioning why you bought it. Why you maintain it. What purpose it serves. Then one day, you see a car driving down your street, and then another.
Author: Sean Parnell “Wait?—?let me get a pencil and paper to take that down. (Pause) OK, what was it you wanted?”. No B2B buyer wants to hear that from a vendor when they place an order the old-fashioned way, by phone. Such aggravations, among other factors, have helped spur the growth of B2B e-commerce. By 2025, 72% of B2Bs expect 41% or more of their revenue to be derived from e-commerce websites they own or operate, according to Episerver’s “ B2B Digital Experiences Report. ”.

In Broome we have been getting some good isolated rain events recently. They are so isolated that it could be raining very close by, but not actually where you are. There has also been another tropical low that came very close to Broome dumping heavy rains and then continued around the coast of Western Australia. It didn’t become a tropical cyclone thankfully and just brought rain.
