Some five years ago I was involved in a project of ecotourism evaluation of the river Danube in Serbia, which included the city of Belgrade, founded at the bank of this river. The toughest thing for me, as a local birder, was to choose the most attractive birds because those that attract my attention are generally all too common in the northwest of Europe, from where most visiting birders are coming.
Author: Tessa Burg In a perfect world, your sales team and your marketing team work side by side to find and close customers. In the real world, however, less than half of companies believe their sales and marketing teams are in any sort of alignment at all. Traditionally, each department has experienced success in the past working in a siloed fashion.
The striking Golden-cheeked Warbler nests only in the hills of central Texas near Austin but a substantial part of those breeding grounds have leveled in favor of development. One of the fastest growing cities in America, Austin is the capital of Texas and home of the University of Texas. Fueled by a dynamic economy, it is now the 11th largest city in the country: more than 2 million people now live in the metropolitan area.
To continue my assertion before the weekend began, March may be one of the most boring months of the year for birding. However, just as a bad day of fishing beats a good day at work for many anglers, even a boring birding month offers excitement. Did you find any this weekend? So far this year, my daughter and I have gone 3 for 3 with owls. This weekend’s quarry was a gorgeous Northern Saw-whet Owl at Braddock Bay’s Owl Woods, which is as good a place to find them as you’d imag
Most birders show reasonable to remarkable understanding of phenology. Our attunement to periodic plant and animal life cycle events explains why we anticipate migration with the eagerness of schoolchildren waiting for the final bell. This phenological fluency also helps us recognize signs of a changing season. For example, we all have birds we associate with the beginning of spring.
The Striated Heron Butorides striata is generally found along the coast around Broome, but we have also had one in our garden in the past. We have also observed them at river crossings between Broome and Derby. They can be reliably found at Gantheaume Point feeding among the rocks, but if the tide is very high they go into the scrub on the cliffs until the tide turns.
Sultanpur National Park is situated approximately 30km to the west of Indhira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi , India. It is in Haryana State and comprises over 300 acres of lake, woodland and scrub. The park is managed for the benefit of the wildlife and made accessible for visitors with a footpath along the lakeshore and out onto spits that allow a closer approach to the heronry.

The Gyrfalcon ( Falco rusticolus ), the largest falcon in the world, is as sought after by falconers as it is by birders – and for many of the same reasons: namely, the rarity with which these imposing raptors of the Arctic visit us residing in more temperate climes. But they are also highly-prized for their ruthless and powerful efficiency in killing – medieval illustrations depict them downing cranes and a twentieth-century painting by Louis Agassiz Fuertes shows a falconer’s Gyrfalcon inflict
Author: Rilind Elezaj There are people who have made it their business to use misconceptions and unfounded myths to scare businesses from outsourcing in emerging markets. They will tell you how unhealthy and unaffordable outsourcing is, but they will never tell you how outsourcing can help you to expand your startup in China , among other emerging markets.
Author: Jeremy Dale “Be a voice, not an echo.” – Albert Einstein. The irony of punk music was that you didn’t need to be a musician?— you just had to have something to say. The Sex Pistols certainly had something to say. Their lyrics were aggressive, straight-talking, and they didn’t pull any punches. They became the unofficial voice of the alienated British working-class teen-ager of the mid ’70s.
