The outside temperature in the shade reads 47 degrees Celsius and I’m about to enter a hide to photograph birds. At times like these, I question my sanity. But I keep coming back for more. It was only two weeks ago that I was on a bleak moor on Shetland and now I wish that I had the cool temperatures, the cloud and the rain that I had moaned about then.

I spotted about 3 cellar spiders in my basement last week. And I just wonder with them sitting there for so long in their web. How often are prey actually getting stuck in the web? Don’t want them to starve of course. I had saw one cellar spider wrapping up a firefly in it’s silk. But the firefly eventually ended up escaping but it was barely moving and couldn’t fly.

The Datang area stretches North from Tengchong, with basically just one road (G219) having less and less traffic before it eventually peters out in a series of curves about 10 kilometers before reaching the border to Myanmar. Unfortunately, this makes it sound a bit more interesting for birding than it turned out for me – though admittedly, I spent less than a day there.

Another week, another week without birding. We spoke this weekend at a church in Toluca, three hours away, and I got back too tired to hit the hills early Monday morning. Fortunately, I have other 10,000 Birds writers from whom to steal ideas. David Tomlinson wrote this week about how many and which species he has seen so far this year, and I can do the same.

Would a large cat (Jaguar, Lion, Tiger, etc) defend a human it's created a "bond/connection" with? You see a lot of these people on YouTube and social media that are around wild animals, working an animal rehab or conservatory or something else in that genre. If someone were to threaten or even assault the person the animal(s) seemingly created a bond/connection with, would they defend their person as if they were their own or would they go about ignoring it?

Pls help us name our sweet new guyyy. Have been trying to rename for weeks and cant find the right fit. He came to us as Miracle due to his crazy survival story but that is not a name we love. Side note he is blind and has no eyelidssss our special guy. I especially like the geeky or human names but idk nothing is feelin right!

buuut, my brother had a black and yellow Florida king snake. He potty trained it. He'd take it outside next to the trailer. It would slither along next to him as he walked. When it got to the end, he'd put his snakeskin boot down (yeah, weird), and Abagail (the snake) would turn around and slither the other way, until she was ready. Then she'd evacuate and he'd pick her back up and put her in her always-clean tank.

It is a work in progress and I have implemented a few features like Scanning animals and getting detailed info in pokedex style Chat to an animal (without sign in) Mark scan as favourites Leaderboard and Badges. A friend of mine takes care of dogs when their owners don't have the opportunity (travel, work or something like that). Since we work together, I'm always with her and her "fluffy" clients loves me. Many "not so fluffy" clients thinks that that's ok, I play with them or I keep an eye to them. But. Not everyone. This man has a little female dog and he said that she's been traumatized by a violent man.
