Male Phalaropes, Jacanas, Tinamous, and Rheas build nests, incubate the eggs and take care of the chicks. Females then begin to lay eggs in the nest the male prepared. The Red-browed Pardalote has a five note call, whilst the Striated Pardalote has a sharp two note call, but both species sound extremely persistent when you hear them.
