Researchers from Princeton University and the University of the South (both in the U.S.) According to the researchers, their findings may mean that the use of playback could have negative effects on birds. They may experience undue stress and/or needlessly expend energy. Some even built a nest near a playback site.

Around 12 million animals are used each year in the European Union (EU) for research purposes. This became clear from a report addressed at the European Parliament (EP) session on May 5–7, which seeks to vote on a directive concerning animal research. I really hope this passes.

But does the value of a particular trip come from the number of birds seen, viewing a particular species, seeing an endangered species, catching a glimpse of a rarity, adding a lifer, or something else? How much do birders value a birding experience? This includes bird-watching experiences.

The experience was marvelous — but it also weighed heavily on me. Three papers coming out of the study are in peer review, and the research continues, with citizen science opportunities and additional data partnerships anticipated in the near future. The Refuge is now home to nearly 200 species of birds, over 50 species of mammals, 25 species of reptiles and amphibians, and a wide variety of insects, fish and plants. The Louisiana black bear’s threatened status warrants protection under sections 7 and 9 of the Endangered Species Act.

It is believed that the population in El Triunfo, Chiapas is stable, but throughout its range the population is still declining and the Horned Guan is an endangered species. Most of what is known of the Horned Guan ’s natural history is due to his research and observations. Wine-throated Hummingbird.

(SOPI) is the leading ornithological organization and it performs research, education, and outreach. Much of the research regarding Caribbean ecology and ornithology has been conducted in Puerto Rico. There are arguments for adding all territories, but experience demonstrates that the ABA moves glacially when it comes to the ABA Area.
