The “Rufa” Red Knot is now protected under the Endangered Species Act

Fish and Wildlife Service has listed the “Rufa” population of Red Knot ( Calidris canutus rufa ) as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). During both the northbound (spring) and southbound (fall) migrations, knots can be found anywhere along the coastal and inland U.S. Birds in Delaware Bay.
