The Banded Barbet is a medium-sized barbet that is endemic to Ethiopia and Eritrea. Banded is an attractive species endemic to Ethiopia and Eritrea. He discovered numerous new species for science including this barbet and was the first person to confirm the existence of both Gorillas and Pygmies.
